Tragedy in Imo state as 20 Imo Poly students buried under Container Tragedy from heavy truck

www.odogwublog.com reports that tragedy struck Umuagwo, Imo State when a container fell off from a heavy duty vehicle and buried about 20 students of the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo.
The container fell off from the truck in front of the main gate of the Imo State Polytechnic while in motion, on the ever busy Owerri - Port Harcourt expressway.
Unfortunately, as at press time, about three people are still trapped underneath the container. 
The students were heading into school at about 10am before the incident.
A student who gave his name as John said "the vehicle was conveying a container from Port Harcourt to Owerri but unfortunately, it slipped off and fell on innocent people who were going for their lectures. I believe the victims are students of Imo State Polytechnic who were going to school".
"The thing happened so fast, under a split second, and nobody anticipated it. Unfortunately, rescue operation is yet to commence", John said.
Imo State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike confirmed the incident but said the number of trapped people is yet to be ascertained.
Ezike disclosed that the command is still trying to secure heavy duty equipments to commence emergency rescue operations.
"Yes, I am aware. There are casualties but we can not say the exact number. We don't want to speculate. We are looking for heavy duty equipments for the rescue mission to commence", Ezike said.
