reports that an Arsenal football club fan in Imo State, Dominic Ejimba at the
weekend suddenly slumped and died while watching Arsenal versus Stock City
match in the English Premier League.
Dominic, a die -hard fan of Arsenal FC was watching the
match at a viewing center on the Owerri -Okigwe expressway until his club conceded
a goal mid way into the second half of the game.
Another football lover at the viewing centre, Chuks Amaku
explained that Dominic "just slumped immediately Stoke City scored a goal,
and before my Uncle, Hezekiah Amaku could rush him to the hospital he died.
Amaku, who expressed shock at the incident said they were
all throwing banters over football clubs and players, and how some fans will be
jeered at, nobody knew Dominic was moments away from death, saying he must have
taken the conceded goal very seriously.
Dominic's brother, Francis, confirmed the incident yesterday.
He regretted that the late Arsenal fan left behind a young
wife and three little kids, saying his demise is very painful and least
expected.
Another Arsenal fan, Barrister Kissinger Ikeokwu, said
Gunners fans in the state mourn the painful exit.
According to Ikeokwu, late Dominic was a great fan of
Arsenal, just as he prayed for the repose of his soul, as well as the fortitude
for his family to bear his death.
Dominic who hailed from Umufuku -Umunchi in Isiala Mbano
local government area of Imo State, was in early forties and has supported
Arsenal from his childhood, and would go without food anytime the club lost a
match.
