Ozubulu massacre: Youths protest re opening of church

www.odogwublog.com reports that Ozubulu youths under the auspices of Ozubulu Youths Association today protested the re opening of St Philips Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu, Anambra state barely a week after hoodlums wrecked havoc on the church.

The president of the association Comrade Emeka Anakwe said that it is worrisome that the church would be reopened for service when investigation into the matter has not been concluded.

He said that it is highest level of provocation for the youths to see the church holding service when the community is still mourning.

Comrade Anakwe who condemned the attack on the innocent worshipers said that the youths of Ozubulu are concerned about the matter as people can no longer sleep with their eyes closed because of fear of re occurrence.

The youths who took their protest to the Igwe's palace and the police station in the town said their town has always play host to people from other communities in the state because of its peaceful nature.

Comrade Anakwe said that the youths of the town who has been neglected for so long will no longer accept such disposition from the elders of the community as they are prepared to play active role in the issues that affect the community.
