Odogwu Emeka Odogwu of www.odogwublog.com reports that the Anglican Bishop of Awka diocese, Rt. Rev. Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, Ph. D has commended the graduating students of Bishop Crowther Seminary Awka for their outstanding results in learning, extra-curricular activities, character and sports, especially the recent released JAMB results were 78percent of them scored above 200 aggregate score.
Bishop Ibezim spoke during the valedictory service/prize giving day of 2016/2017 academic session, July 22nd 2017 at the Archbishop Patterson Memorial Chapel of the Seminary.
The Awka Bishop reminded them that six years many of them spent here in the school ought to reflect by every indices in their homes and higher institutions where many of would gain admission. He charged them to shun cultism and other social vices like homosexuality practices because their consequences are grave, even as he reminded them that they didn't learn so from the School training.
He reminded parents to always take oversight functions on their children when they enter higher institutions because any careless overlook could likely distort the solid foundation laid in their lives while in school, but thanked the parents for their labour of love and commitment toward their wards.
He gave N20,000 appreciation gift to two teachers who groomed and coordinated the students in the school choir as a morale booster and commended the Principal of the school Venerable Nnamdi .B. Emendu , PhD and wife Nneora Ebere Emendu as well as old boys, teachers in the school and parents for their varying roles for a better future for the students. 
In an interview, President Mother’s Union, Women’s Guild and Girls’ Guild diocese of Awka, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim (Mama Awka, Nneoma), insisted that for the motto of the Great Crowtherians which is ‘Rise and Shine’ to be meaningful to the society, the outgoing students must be exemplary in character and learning always in the society and to be closer to God by placing God first in all they do. 

Delighted by their performances academically, Mrs Ibezim who is also the Principal of Queens Convent College Awka, flagship of Anglican Girls Schools in Anambra enjoined the graduating students to continue to show the light at as they advance in academics and entrepreneurship as well as other ventures they might found themselves, insisting they must not forget God in their plans having being taught spiritually and academically.
She confirmed that Bishop Crowther Seminary is one of the best seminary schools in South East and commended the Principal, Ven. Dr Nnamdi Emendu for his doggedness while thanking the tutorial and non-tutorial staff for their resilience in bringing the students in the best ways possible.
She advised the graduating students not to stop learning but that they should further their education, expressing delight they graduated as balanced students ---academically and spiritually, enjoining them to put all they have leant into work.
Awka diocesan Clerical Synod Secretary, Venerable Clement Chibuzor Mgbemena in his valedictory service sermon charged the students to reflect the Virtues impacted on them throughout their stay in Bishop Crowther Seminary Awka in the world at large as good ambassadors of Anglican Communion.

Earlier in his address, the Principal of Bishop Crowther Seminary Awka, Ven. Nnamdi Emendu PhD, said he was impressed by the performances of the graduating students spiritually and academically as about 96% of BCS scored above 200 points in the 2017 UTME.
Ven. Dr. Emendu stated further that: ‘’In WAEC, our student made 9 A's in his  2017 WASCCE and more than 15 students got distinctions in their main subjects.
‘’98% passed their WAEC & NECO last year and 100% pass mark made in the BECE last year.
‘’The academic year they've maintained E-learning and they have engaged in National and International competitions. In sports, they excelled in the Seminary Schools competition organized for all the Southeast States by taking 2nd Position overall. Meanwhile UNN had invited BCS to send their candidates who scored above 200 in UTME for consideration and admission.
‘’Two of our students were selected by Nigeria for under nineteen cricket Championship that was held in South Africa last year. The school won 1st position in the Maiden edition of Sir Victor Obidike Anambra Cricket Championship held from July 7th-8th , 2017 at Awka Stadium’’.
Ven Dr Emendu further thanked the Bishop of Awka and wife , Right Rev Dr Ibezim and Mama Awka Chioma Ibezim; his own wife Mrs Ebele Emendu ; chairman Diocesan Education Board , Prof Nkechi Ikediugwu; her secretary Ven Geoffery Oji; chaplain and wife Rev Pharm Clems and Mrs Amaka Izuegbu and Rev Augustine Otiji; chairman management committee, Dr Emma Emelummadu and Old Boys Association, Comrade Churchill Okonkwo as well as the PTA for their solidarity in making the day a worthwhile.
  In an interview, the Coordinator of 2017 valedictory service, Mr Iwuchukwu Uwaezuoke said this year’s valedictory service was unique and thanked the old boys led by Comrade Churchill Okonkwo, and the PTA among others for their outstanding contributions to the development of the institution and challenged their present SSS3 students to strive to perform better than the present set morally, spiritually and academically for their testimonies to be greater.
He said it was the first time the graduating old boys appeared in their Uniform and 2017 valedictory prizes were from N20,000 and above by old boys. He boasted that there are two schools in Awka—Bishop Crowther and others even as he appealed to their students to strive to be the best in life since the seminary is known for balanced learning.

Valedictory prize winners include best behaved graduating students Mbachi Chukwuebuka and Enyi Richard; Neatest outgoing Senior student Onuorah Chibueze; Most honest graduating student Mbachi Chukwuebuka; Most Humane Graduating student Ezeamama Chinedu; Protector of Junior Student Eze Ebube ; Graduating student with general excellence Eze Ebube; Most Active Graduating Prefect Eze Ebube; Neatest Junior student Eze Onyeka; Neatest Senior Prefect Okoye Hycinth; Most responsible class prefect Akoma Emmanuel; Best form teacher Onyekachi Amaka (Mrs); Best hostel master Akunwanne .V.N (Mr) ; Most punctual teachers Onye-Ndimele Munachimso (Mr) and Anyafulu Ugochukwu (Engr) ; Oldest serving tutorial staff members Obidiume Innocent (Mr) and Ubosi Nkiru C (Mrs); and the Oldest serving Non-tutorial staff member Nwadinobi Ijeoma.
The outgoing senior Prefect, Okeke Obinna enjoined his colleagues to continue to be good representatives of the seminary and always ‘’rise and shine’ no matter the circumstances; while the incumbent Senior Prefect Tabansi Armstrong prayed for his actions and inactions to be worthy of emulation in his stay in office, even as he asked God for knowledge and understanding for them to continue to shine in their academics, as well as moral and spiritual life.
