lgwe Emeka inaugurates 35 Cabinet Chiefs At Umueri

Gone are the days when leadership and membership of traditional institutions are occupied by the aged and illiterates as most communities now elect young, employed and most times members of the academia,  as traditional rulers and cabinet chiefs.
This was evident during the induction of cabinet chiefs of Umueri community, in Anambra East council area where almost all the thirty five members of the Igwe's cabinet are entrepreneurs, and members of the academia of high repute.
The induction ceremony took place at the palace of the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka.

The thirty five members of the Igwe's cabinet comprising both male and female, were selected after a thorough screening of over one thousand individuals nominated for the position.
Among the cabinet members were Justice Charles Okaa, the President General of the community, Chief Pius Okolo, Professor Ogugua Ikpeze of Faculty of Law  of UNIZIK,  Mr Mike Udah, former Chief Press Secretary to Governor Peter Obi; the President General Umueri General Assembly, Hon Pius Okonkwo; Justice Charles Okaa and Chief Elder Anakputalu Godswill Umeadi , a seasoned lawyer Senator Emma Anosike , a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Chief Paul Okafor, Senator Emma Anosike, Chief Emma Edochie to mention but a few.

 Performing the induction, Igwe Emeka read out the duties of the new cabinet chiefs to include being present in meetings of the cabinet and proffering solutions either in advice or in cash support to challenges facing the community, advising the traditional ruler properly on issues bothering on the development of the community and accompanying their monarch to events to promote unity and love in the community.
Igwe Emeka reminded them of the need to empower youths of the community either by employment or by awarding scholarship to students at secondary and tertiary levels as a way of fast racking development in the society and announced that he has trained about fifteen youths in the university and will sponsor ten more within the next two years.
In their acceptance speeches, some of the new cabinet chiefs, Mr. Udah, and Professor Ikpeze who expressed their readiness to do more for the community, noted that enthronement of their traditional ruler and subsequent induction of the cabinet chiefs after over twenty years of existence without a traditional ruler, is a milestone in the history of the community pledging their total loyalty to the traditional ruler and the constitution of Umueri General Assembly.
On their part, other chiefs, Barrister Sam Umeadi and Emma Edochie while going down memory lane on how Igwe Emeka was elected, said that the leadership of Igwe Emeka is the best thing that has happened to the community, and expressed joy for being found worthy of the position. Highpoint of the event were the induction proper , music displays and royal dance by the Igwe and his cabinet members.

Hon Julius Udekwe , PRO of Umueri General Assembly and Supervisory Councillor for Health and Councillor representing Otuocha  ward 2 moderated the colourful event, while Bishop Tim Obidike of Faith Assembly Church Worldwide said the prayers asking God for grace and mercy upon the throne of Igwe Emeka.

A cabinet member and  media guru , Chief Mike Udah PhD said Igwe Emeka has touched lives in the community positively even before he was coronated and appealed to the cabinet members to assist him actualize his laudable programmes for the community even as he said with Igwe Emeka Umueri has seen the light and would be henceforth leading in comity of communities in Anambra state, while,

Udah described Igwe Emeka as a digital traditional ruler , widely traveled yet in tune with culture and tradition of his people. He concluded by saying that Umueri has left Egypt to the promised land with Igwe Emeka.

A Woman leader , Mrs Ngozi Blessing Morah on behalf of Umueri women wished Igwe Emeka well on thrione as accroding to her Igwe Emeka has changed the narratives of Umueri as a traditinal ruelr with swag. She pledged their support to the monarch.

The traditional Prime Minister, Onowu Iyasele 13 of Umueri, Chief Mike Ekweonu lauded the peaceful means everything went in the community and lauded Igwe Emeka for setting a record unequaled in the community.
Umueri has no traditional ruler for over 22 years after the demise of Igwe Nelson Okoye before a committee set up by the President General Hon Hon Pius Okonkwo led by Chief Godswill Umeadi commenced with the processes of electing a new traditional ruler until Igwe Emeka emerged.
