Chief of Army staff commissions Army urban Water plant in Enugu

www.odogwublog.com reports the Chief of Army Staff[COAS], Lt-Gen.Tukur Yusuf Buratai, today commissioned an Urban Water Treatment Plant with a capacity of providing one million litres of water per day built  at the Abakpa Cantonment of the 82 Division of Nigerian Army, Enugu.

 Delivering his address at the event,  the Chief of Army Staff, LT. GEN Tukur Yusuf Buratai commended governor Ugwuanyi for supporting the project and the the General Officer Commanding  82 division,Major General Adamu Abubakar  for initiating the project.


He recalled  the scarcity of clean water supply at the 82 division,Army Barracks has been a perennial problem,  which he experienced  when served in the division about thirty five  years ago, and expressed  happiness that the problem is now over with the establishment of the treatment plant.

He disclosed that the water treatment was  constructed by the Nigerian Army engineers,  and suggested that the plant could be replicated to other areas by the Nigerian Army Engineers.

In his good will message, Governor. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi commended  Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Yusuf Buratai and the General Officer Commanding 82 division, Major General Adamu Abubakar for their assistance in providing drinking water to the Barracks and the environs.

Ugwuanyi commended the army and other security agencies over the good security in the state and promised to asphalt the road that links to the water treatment plant.

Also speaking, Ebonyi State Governor,  Dr.  Dave Umahi, stated  that the Nigerian Army did a great work by assisting the governor of the state in providing portable water to the Barracks and it's environs.
