Breaking News: Osinbajo swears in Ocheni, Hassan as ministers

www.odogwublog.com reports that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo this morning administered the oath of office on the two new ministers, almost three months after they were screened and cleared by the Senate.
They are Mr. Stephen Ocheni from Kogi State who replaced late Mr. James Ocholi; and Alhaji Suleiman Hassan from Gombe State, in place of Mrs. Amina Mohammed, who quit the cabinet to take up appointment as United Nations Deputy Secretary-General. There had been anxiety over their delayed inauguration of the new ministers as debate raged over the purported inability of Osinbajo to exercise full presidential powers in the absence of President Muhammad Buhari.
Osinbajo did not immediately announce their new portfolios soon after the swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Villa, stating that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation would announce it later. In his remarks, the Acting President who also did not explain why he delayed for so long to swear in the ministers confirmed by lawmakers in May 3, 2017, charged them to get to work immediately as they wouldn't have the luxury o time to celebrate heir new appointments.
While tasking them to key into the anti-corruption mantra of the administration, Osinbajo said they must quickly join hands with other cabinet members in the urgent job of turning around the economy as espoused in the working document of the Economic Growth and Recovery Plan (EGRP). The new ministers immediately joined other cabinet members for the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which commenced immediately after the swearing in ceremony
