“I am very delighted this afternoon to commission this modern vehicle clinic. This is the type of thing you see in Big cities like USA and we decided to bring it down to this place. One of my main duties as a Governor is to protect lives and property of indigenes. It is not only to drive away kidnappers, armed robbers and other miscreants which I have successfully done but also to minimize the rate of road accidents in our state. One of the major killers of our people I have observed is road accidents,” he said.
Governor Obiano further revealed that about 100 Vehicles Inspection Officers (VIO) will be employed in the state to ensure that there was adequate man power to inspect vehicle fitness.
“We are going to increase the VIOs by additional 100 persons. If your vehicle is not fit to ply our roads, just come to this clinic. The importance of this clinic will not be over emphasized. We’re going to enforce it to make sure that we minimize the rate of road accidents; the doctors are here to check the problems of your vehicles and rectify them”, said Obiano

We have intensified the patching of potholes on roads, road decongestion and I have equally equipped the FRSC with speed testing gadgets and Alcohol detecting devices. This is not to witch hunt anybody but to ensure that lives of road users are protected. This administration is not interested in the IGR that will come from here but rather that vehicles plying our roads are healthy,” said Obiano.
