www.odogwublog.com reports that a middle aged man, Mr. Joshua Anyanwoke from Ozatta village in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State is now in police net for allegedly killing his kinsman over N1,200 debt.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Leye Oyebade who disclosed this while parading some suspects today in Umuahia, gave the name of the victim as Paul Ezinwa, who also hailed from the same village with the suspect.
He said the incident took place on May 19, 2017, adding that it was the suspect that reported himself to the police.
According to the police boss , the suspect armed with a machete, had stormed the victim's house on the said date and demanded payment of the debt but the victim refused to pay.
He said that the suspect out of anger gave the victim some machete cuts on the neck region which made him bleed profusely.
The victim later died on the way to the hospital due to heavy bleeding from the machete cuts.
The CP said the victim's body had been deposited to the mortuary while the suspect would soon be arraigned for murder.
