INJUSTICE: 92 Years Old Widow, Lady Juliana Onuorah Cries Out, begs Archbishop of Archdiocese of Onitsha to leave her land alone

www.odogwublog.com reports that an 92 year old widow, Lady Juliana Onuorah today at the Ogidi High Court in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state cried out for intervention to restore her land allegedly taken over by the Roman Catholic Church in Onitsha.
The case has lingered for more than 10 years now and should the woman dies, there would be dimensions to the case.

She insisted that she did not give the Roman Catholic Church her land as being claimed by the church.

The widow and her only daughter Patricia, had dragged the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev Valerian Okeke and six others to court over their alleged claim of their property at Nkpor.
When the matter came up for continuation yesterday, Justice Vincent Agbata stopped one of the counsels to the defendants, CJ Asiegbu from intimidating the widow.
The situation warranted the Judge to tell the counsels to take a new date for continuation of proceedings on July 3rd, 2017 when he found out that the old woman had become weak at the witness box.

The Catholic Archbishop who was absent again was represented by Anthony Anaenugwu (SAN), who led CJ Asiegbu and others, while Theodore Udochi led S.O Oni for the plaintiffs.
When Asiegbu asked the widow whether she signed a document that signified that she gave the church her land in 1990, Onuorah emphatically told the court she did not give the church any land.
Again, the counsel asked her that the husband signed the document, but the woman answered that she was not aware of such development.
Onuorah further told the court that she used to spell, “our ladies” before which was her schools and bread outfits name, adding that she could no longer spell such.

She said the disputed land being claimed by the Catholic Church was her property which she bought with her own money many years ago, adding that there was never a time she signed a document pertaining to the land with the church.
Furthermore, she denied instructing one Emilia Enemuo to prepare any power of attorney on the disputed land.
When Asiegbu asked her whether she had any problem with the Catholic Church before her daughter Patricia came back from United States of America (USA), lady Onuorah said that the church was disturbing her.
But not satisfied with the answer, the defendant’s counsel reminded her that she had appeared in a high court before, but her counsel Udochi objected to such question and urged the court to direct Asiegbu to restrict his questions to the pleaded documents.
At that juncture, Justice Agbata sustained the plea, but told Asiegbu that the woman had become weak and should be given time, while he called for an adjournment.
The judge now adjourned the matter to July 3rd for continuation.
