A total of 36 persons were paraded including students from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) and the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, both in Imo State for armed robbery and cult related activities.

Seven vehicles recovered were displayed; while a stash of ammunition; AK 47 rifles; locally made pistols and charms were also recovered and displayed.

Mr Chris Ezike warned that from Monday, July 3rd, 2017, it will be an offense for drive vehicles with covered plate number; revolving lights without authorization; and tinted glass; saying criminals now use it to perpetrate crime.

Ezike charged traditional rulers, President-General of town unions and their Secretaries, community leaders to look into their domains as investigations have shown that kidnap victims are kept in family house where members carry on as though everything is normal.

According to him, cultism is the mother cause of armed robbery and kidnapping, adding that use of hard drugs can also be blamed as cause of crime.
