Group Condemns Ekweremadu's Home Raid......Calls for Igbo Unity

www.odogwublog.com reports that a group under the aegis of World Igbo Congress (WIC) has condemned in strong terms the recent attack on the guest house of the Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Ike Ekweremadu by security operatives, describing it as a calculated attack on the people of South East geopolitical Zone.
       In a communiqué issued at the end of their First Leadership Summit in Nigeria held at Ascort Resort Hotel, New Haven, Enugu and signed by the chairman of WIC, Engr. Joe Nze Eto, the summit accused Buhari's led Federal Government of Nigeria of bias, despotic tendencies and insensitivity.

      They queried why the federal government would be turning its eyes the other way whenever Igbo life and property were under assault. This is even as they said they were irked by the discordant leader of the Igbo leadership cadre and the stifling anti-Igbo policies in the Nigerian polity
        The summit recalled that the DSP had reported that a plot of this nature were being hatched against him but were vehemently denied by the IGP.

      They called on the security forces of Nigeria to immediately fish out the perpetrators of what they described as dastardly act and to ensure that justice was meted out to the satisfaction of Ndi Igbo and all Nigerians, urging them to stop any further harassment of the DSP and Ndi Igbo in Nigeria.

       'Nigeria must decide whether Ndi Igbo are still part of it and whether they still have the rights and privileges of citizenship that other ethnic groups in Nigeria enjoy so freely.

       Sequel to the foregoing, the summit noted with grave concern, undisguised targeted intimidation and attacks on Igbo political actors and business men and women by the federal government.
     They called for cohesion and synergy in the leadership of Ndi Igbo, citing the example of meeting the seemingly insurmountable bail conditions of the IPOB leader Comrade Nnamdi Kanu as an eloquent testimony of what the cohesion of leadership can achieve.
      The summit which was held under the auspices of the Executive Governor of Enugu State H.E. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, had well over 300 people in attendance, notable among whom were the Executive Officers and affiliate members of the World Igbo Congress from the USA, Igbo People in Dublin, Ireland led by Attorney Franklin Nwakor; Ikeoha Ndi Igbo, DSP Senator Ike Ekweremadu; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; Former Governor of Anambra State, H.E. Peter Obi; the Executive Officers of Ala Igbo Development Foundation led by their president, Professor Uzodinma Nwala;
    Others are the members of Lower Niger Congress led by their Executive Secretary Attorney Tony Nnadi; Executives of Fidelity Bank, Plc;  Executives of Diamond Bank, Plc; A mass of people from Imo, Abia, Rivers and Anambra States; Movement of the Biafra People in Nigeria (MOBIN).
       Highpoints of the summit are Life time awards presentation to Engr. Arthur Eze, Ozo Igbo Ndu and Dr. Joe Nwodo for their sterling services to Ndi Igbo.
