Cult war: 10 feared dead , 40 injured in Akure

www.odogwublog.com reports that it was tragic yesterday as no fewer than ten (10) persons were feared dead in an alleged clash between two rival cult groups in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The alleged cult clash which resulted into pandemonium in the town, also caused serious tension in many parts of the town.

The Authority learnt that members of both Eiye and Aiye confraternity were involved in the violent clash.
The clash involved usage of dangerous weapons and the latest clash was said to be an aftermath of series of attack by members of the two cult groups in the town.

The clash occurred in Obanla, Roadblock, Adebowale junction and Nepa area with casualties numbering 40, while 10 died.

The clash started at NEPA area of the town from where it spread to other areas.
President, Akure Youths coalition, Mr. Tuyi Adekanbi said the incident was disturbing and highly worrisome.

He called for proper investigation of the killings by the Police, just as he called on law enforcement agencies to ensure that the suspected killers are punished.
