South-East Governors forum knocks out plans for better economic agenda for the zone

www.odogwublog.com reports that the South East Governors forum today nominated ten technocrats from the zone as members of the economic team to articulate a common economic agenda for the zone, as part of their efforts to ginger economic integration of the zone. 
 
They also agreed to delve into the problems of inadequate power supply across the zone and towards that direction will invite the management of   Enugu Electricity Distribution Company,EEDC and umpires of the 'Geometric power' energy,located at Aba,Abia state for explanations.

The Ebonyi state governor,Chief Dave Umahi, who is the chairman of the forum told news men that members of the economic team will officially be inaugurated on June 6, at Nike Lake hotel ltd, Enugu, for them to take off appropriately. Members of the ten man economic team includes two former ministers of the federal republic namely Professor Barth Nnaji and Professor Osita Ogbu,both from Enugu state. They also include Dr Chukwuma Agu,Dr Ele Okoro and Dr Ike Njoku.

Chief Umahi disclosed that the meeting also interfaced with officials of Bank of Agriculture[BOA] on how to secure  yet to be accessed money meant for the zone that are stacked with the bank.  Umahi said they also discussed with  the British Department for international Department[DFID] on how to front development of the South East zone. He disclosed that the economic team after their inauguration will interface further with the organizations.

Chief Umahi said the forum is working hard to ensure that the permanent  office of the South East governors located at old government lodge is put in order.

All the five Governors of the South East zone attended the meeting which was held at Enugu government house .However, the Imo state governor was represented by his deputy,Mr Eze Madumere.
