Robbers invade Okpokija fuel station in Umudagu-Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State

www.odogwublog.com reports that no fewer than nine armed gunmen have invaded  Okpokija fuel station in Umudagu-Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State and carted away millions of Naira.

The armed robbers had disguised as commercial motorcycle riders (okada men) and split themselves into the different pumps, pretending to buy fuel.

Sources who pleaded anonymity said the armed men who arrived the fuel station at about 6:30pm, held everyone at the gas station hostage for about 15 minutes.

The robbers had demanded to see the Station Manager and when their request was delayed, and in anger they pounced on a man they presumed was the Manager.

Further, they robbed customers of their monies and also made away with a bag containing a huge sum of money which they collected from the Manager's office.

A customer narrated his anger thus "the worst is that the police station is a stone-throw from here and despite the gun shots, they did not show up".

Efforts to reach the Police Spokesperson for Imo State, DSP Andrew Enwerem for reactions proved abortive as he failed to pick the calls put across to him.
