Igbo Man, Moughalu set to beat Ngige, Onu , others to become SGF

www.odogwublog.com reports that an All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief, George Moghalu is likely to emerge as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation. If he becomes SGF , then his ambition to be Governor of Anambra state could be put on hold.
He has been named among the likely favoured contenders in the race to replace Engr David Babachir Lawal as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Other names in contention include Senate Leader Ahmed Lawan, three serving Ministers – Senator Chris Ngige, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, and Chief Audu Ogbe as well as Senator Olorunimbe Mamora, as well as the incumbent acting SGF, Habibat Lawal.

Lawal, the erstwhile Secretary to the Government of the Federation was relieved of his job last week by President Muhammadu Buhari over sundry allegations of financial and administrative impropriety that have remained in the public domain for some time now.
A national officer of the APC, Mr Amechi Okeke spoke to journalists in Awka yesterday on the development.
He noted that Moghalu has remained "a versatile, disciplined, loyal and consistent thoroughbred administrator who has all I takes to hold that highly exalted office in the interest of national unity and geo-balance of appointments".
He noted that Chief Moghalu has been an ardent follower and ally of Buhari spanning over two decades and cannot be said to be a stranger to the mounds of close confidants of the President.
Okeke described the governorship hopeful to be among the few consistent members of the party currently seeking to take over the reins of power from the incumbent Gov Willie Obiano.
Many citizens across social class, gender and political leanings of Anambra state have adjudged Obiano's performance, if any at all, abysmal and very disappointing, hence deserves no reelection at all.
If Moghalu gets the President's nod to replace Lawal, it would go a long way, according to Okeke, to restore the confidence of the entire South East zone in the APC-led federal administration.
It will also help reassure the many new entrants and even those still preparing to join the party that their move was never a mistake.
Till date no one from the South East geopolitical zone has been appointed to any position of serious responsibility by the Buhari administration.
This has heightened the fears and apprehension of especially long standing members of the party from the zone on how to assure their people to remain steadfast in the party.
