IFEANYI UBAH'S DETENTION: Ohaneze PG Urges AGF to call DSS to order

www.odogwublog.com reports that the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo[world wide], Chief John Nnia Nwodo has described the continued detention of Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Chairman of Capital Oil ltd, by officials of Department State Service,DSS,in defiance of a Lagos high Court order to produce him in court on Friday, May 12,as a violation of his fundamental human rights, amounts to impunity on the side of the security agency and urged Minister of Justice and  Attorney General of the Federation,[AGF],Mr Abubakar Malami[SAN] to call DSS to order.

Chief Nnia Nwodo gave this task to the Mr Malami  based on his understanding that what transpired between Dr Ifeanyi Ubah and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation[NNPC] was a mere unsettled business transaction with claims by both parties, stating Ubah have not been proved to be guilty of the claims by NNPC.

Chief Nnia Nwodo stated, ‘'Ohaneze Ndigbo insists that the refusal to respect a court order is unconstitutional and strikes at the very foundation of our legal system. It breeds impunity. No reasonable government will condone this'.

'The Attorney General of the Federation [AGF] must call DSS to order. Ifeanyi Ubah must be presumed innocent until proven guilty', Nnia Nwodo stated.

Justice Mohammed Idris of the Lagos high court had on Tuesday, May 9,ordered DSS to produce Ubah in court on Friday, May 12, and to provide evidence why he should not be granted bail unconditionally. But the officials of DSS has disobeyed the court order up till yesterday, Monday, May 15.
