The party said it is setting in motion, strategies that will enable it choose a better candidate that will deliver democracy dividends and empower people at the grass roots by conducting local government election within three months of its emergence.

The state chairman of the party, Prince Udo Ikechukwu Austin, while addressing state executives of the party during its inaugural meeting at Bejoy Center Aroma Awka said they are resuscitating the party in the state to bring back Igbo core values by promoting Igbo language and culture, honesty and integrity, adding that AD believes in Igbo ideology.

He also informed that Governor Willie Obiano, who is presently gunning for second term in office did well but has bad advisers around him that made him fail to deliver democracy dividends to the people in so many areas.

“We are not just in Anambra because of the November election but to educate the people on what we believe in. We acknowledge what Governor Willie Obiano is doing in the state, though, sycophants around him are misleading the people. He is better but we want the best.

“AD has come to shun politics of rancour and acrimony. We have come to educate our youths and women for them to know that they have a responsibility in governance and to avoid being used as political thugs and dancers in political rallies and gatherings. We should shun money politics to make the society better” he said.

Prince Udo also bemoaned the idea of using grassroots politicians for campaigns only to dump them for over sea based technocrats after elections.

“AD also wants to change the idea of going overseas to import people that will work in states after elections. People who are not conversant with the environment and the needs of the people and that is why we have many problems between Presidents General and traditional rulers in various communities today

“This is our opportunity to take over Anambra following the unending crisis in PDP, multiple aspirants in APC and the fact that our people are not ready to embrace APC. AD is the only peaceful party in Nigeria today”

Contributing, the Women Leader of the party in the state, Mrs Chinelo Ezeokafor and AD Chieftain in the state, Mazi Chinedu Ofomata, described AD as a descent party that projects societal values and norms.

Ofomata, who is a renowned author and publisher pointed out that “AD is ideology and nationally based and as well played down on money politics.  Politics is a game of wisdom and wits and not about thuggery and maiming” he mused.
