Umunze, Ezira Women others protest nude , call for Herdsmen Ban

www.odogwublog.com reports that almost all the communities in Orumba South are under siege by Herdsmen.
The Herdsmen are brandishing dangerous weapons, barring them from entering their farm lands to the extent that about three thousand women from Umunze staged a peaceful demonstration at the Government House Awka.
The Umunze women demanded for immediate evacuation of Fulani herdsmen from the community.

The women used palm fronds to cross their mouths as they match to the Government house.
Speaking on their became, a woman leader in the community, Mrs Ceicilia Ezekwe explained that they now find it difficult to feed as cattle have destroyed all their crops ranging from cassava, yams, and vegetables among others.
Mrs Ezekwe also said that women in the community no longer fetch water from various streams or venture into their farmlands for the fear of being attacked by the herdsmen who according to her stab or rape any woman they met while grazing their cattle.

On her part, another member of the women's executive, Mrs Ngozi Ikeakor, lamented that the ugly situation has degenerated to the point that they have resorted to buying foofoo, outside their community known as aggrarian community.
Receiving the women, the Director Media Relations, Government House Awka, Mr Chuks Iloegbunam while assuring them that government is passionate about the welfare of Ndi Anambra, advised them to send a representative for a meeting with a committee constituted by the governor on the herdsmen matters and other affected communities on Tuesday.
