Police arrests Akwa Ibom fake soldiers in Imo

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Imo State Police Commissioner, Chris Ezike has paraded three fake army officers of Akwa Ibom origin just as he  declared total war on cultism in higher institutions of learning in the State.
Ezike made the parade yesterday while speaking with Journalists in his inaugural press briefing as the new Police boss in the state.
The fake army officers are: Kingsley Inyang; Edet Okon; and Victor Akpan.
Ezike stated that 80 percent of cultism in Imo State thrive in the higher institutions of learning, saying the command is crime-mapping those areas.
He said those who wish to renounce membership of cultism will soon get the opportunity to do so but warned that immediately the renounce period is over, the command will declare war on cult activities.
He regretted that an official gazette restricts the Police from setting up a post in any higher institutions of learning, and disclosed that the command will use "stick and carrot method" to bring cultism to its barest minimum.
According to him, the new mantra of the command is "to reduce crime and enhance safety and security in Imo State, adding that under his watch, Imo residents can carry out their lawful activities without security encumbrances.
Further, Ezike declared that all Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel and conventional Policemen deployed to people without approval shall be withdrawn immediately, saying the command needs all her personnel for effective policing.
He paraded 40 suspects for various crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, impersonation as army officers, tricycle snatching, child stealing, and stealing.
He displayed three AK47 rifles, two American made pistols, two locally made pistols and a catchment of ammunition including 15 AK47 magazines fully loaded with 60 rounds of ammunition, which he said could sack the State command.
