Ihim Ancient Kingdom Honours Celestine Iwuagwu with Highest Chieftaincy Title

Considering all his selfless humanitarian services and commitment in the development and transformation of rural communities in  Imo state and beyond, Ihim ancient kingdom in Isiala Mbano council area of Okigwe Senatorial Zone of the state has conferred the ancient autonomous Community most prestigious Chieftaincy title – Ikuku Ndu (Air of Life) to Ogbuefi Celestine Iwuagwu and his wife – Thelma as Ezi-Nwanyi Eji-Aga-Mba (Good woman) in appreciation of their numerous contributions in the development and upliftment of the ancient but famous autonomous community.
Conferring the chieftaincy titles before legion of men at Wisdom Palace, the Traditional Ruler of Ihim Ancient Kingdom HRH Eze Oliver Ohanweh (gburugburu) and HRH Eze Remigius Njoku, of Ehienaezeala Autonomous Community Ikperejere in Ihitte Uboma Local Government area of Imo state described the conferees as an illustrious son and daughter of Igbo Land who have helped the poor, the needy and many rural communities with their hospitality and philanthropic gestures.
HRH Eze Ohanweh who is the Vice Chairman of the Southern Region of Nigerian Christians Traditional Rulers Council criticized the idea of given Chieftaincy titles and awards to people of questionable characters especially criminals, 419ners and looters of public funds.
The foremost traditional who is also a council member of South East Council of Traditional Rulers advised all Royale Fathers  in Nigeria on the need to sanitized the traditional institution by ensuring that chieftaincy titles are bestowed only to people of impeccable character and those who acquired genuine wealth and used it to help humanity
The Vice Chairman Southern Region of Nigeria Christians Traditional Rulers Councils while lamenting over the poor state of the nation’s economy enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari to be decisive on his war against corruption and treasury looters noting it as a strategic measure to re-invent a better Nigeria.
He further enjoined Nigerians to be involved in Agriculture insisting that massive agricultural productions will be one of the veritable anti-dotes to cushion the present economic recession.
Responding, Chief Celestine Iwuagwu said that his humanitarian and philanthropic interests started with his Late father when both of them were selling books at Nkwo-Umuezeala Market in Ehime Mbano council area of Imo State.
Iwuagwu who based in Houston Texas and works with United Airline as their Customer Services Officer described the chieftaincy conferment as one of his greatest achievements in life apart from his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration which he garnered from American University.
He vowed not to relent in his philanthropic and humanitarian endeavours saying that even though he hails from Umuokparanyaro in Umuezeala Owerre Autonomous Community in Ehime Mbano council area of Imo state that he now has a bond with Ihim Autonomous Community as one of their own.
Similarly, the wife – Lolo Thelma Iwuagwu (Ezi-Nwanyi-Eji-Aga-Mba) said she was excited and happy over the chieftaincy conferment to their family.
Mrs. Iwuagwu who is also an American based professional Nurse passionately advised women to “Always be there for their husband and family, no matter how many children you have for him, your husband is still your husband, be there and support him always even though he does not listen all the time but always be there for him” she insisted.
In their various contributions High Chief Davison Oparaji, Nze Everest Ndulaka and Chief Barr. Emeka Ihechu, the Traditional Prime Ministers of Nguru-Nweke in Aboh Mbaise Council Area, Ihim autonomous community in Isiala Mbano and Umuezeala-Owerre Ancient Kingdom in Ehime Mbano LGA respectively described the occasion as historical and conferees as eminently qualified for the first Class chieftaincy title.
They commended HRH Eze Ohanwe for being patriotic, visionary and appreciative.
