Gunmen strike as new Imo CP Chris Ezeike resumes


www.odogwublog.com reports that barely hours after the new Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Ezeike resumed duties at the State headquarters, dare devil armed men have invaded Anara, Isiala Mbano local government and whisked away a former principal manager of Power Holding company of Nigeria, Benedict Kpaduwa, sending fears into the community.
The new Police Commissioner, Chris Ezeike, hails from Uga in Anambra State and has served in Rivers and Delta States, respectively and is coming after 7 years an Igbo born CP, Alloy Okorie left as the police helmsman in the state.
Benedict Kpaduwa, was a former principal manager (finance and accounts) of the defunct Power Holding company of Nigeria, hails from Umudo village in Anara and is currently a Lagos based businessman who has business interests in his home community.
Kpaduwa had gone to his Mekcyn investment depot at about 9am yesterday in Anara when the armed men invaded his depot, and whisked him away from his car in the process
Sources who pleaded anonymity said the four armed men had trailed him in a hummer bus, drove into his depot and started shooting sporadically into the air, an action that saw people scampering for safety.

His abduction, our correspondent learnt took place around 9am at his Depot known as Mekcyn investment located at his home town, Anara, in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state.
The source in the village said Kpaduwa, was kidnapped in the presence of his staff who were helpless and had scampered for their own safety.
Already, his kinsmen have reported the incident at the Anara Police Division at Idem-Anara.
Efforts to confirm the incident proved abortive as calls put the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), (DSP) Andrew Enwerem proved abortive as he did not pick the call.
