The protest which was led by the South/East Coordinator of Occupy Constituencies a non governmental organization, Mr. Fidel Obi saw the protesters carrying placards and chanting anti Ayanwu slogans.
Obi while addressing journalist claimed that Anyawu has not represented his constituency well since elected a senator.
He further claimed that Anyawu was insensitive to the plight of his constituents.
According to Obi “This protest is a wake up call for Sen. Samuel Anyawu and other senators that have not represented their  constituents well.
“We want our senator Samuel Anyawu to carry the plight of his constituents to the national assembly”
The leader of the group also demanded that Anyawu should key into the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari and his anti corruption crusade.
He accused Anyawu of playing politics with members of his constituents rather than given them quality representation.
“Today we are calling on our senator to demand that any of the members of the senate with high profile corruption charges in court should relinquish their positions"
Obi, while commending President Muhammadu Buhari for his exemplary leadership, also demand that the national assembly expedite action to pass all anti corruption bills sent to them by the president.

However, when contacted the  Special Assistant to Anyawu on Media,Kelechi Eke  said that they got an intelligent report on the planed protest. He also dismissed the allegations against Ayanwu, describing them as baseless just as he also  denied knowledge of the attack on the protesters.
