Old Aguata Union Adopts Godwin Ezeemo as sole candidate For 2017 Governorship Election in Anambra state

www.odogwublog.com reports that the people of the 45 communities that make up Old Aguata Union (OAU) on Saturday adopted Mr. Godwin Chukwunenye Ezeemo, an industrialist and aspirant on the platform of the Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA) as their choice for November 18, 2017 governorship election.
The traditional ruler of Ikenga, Igwe A. N. Ezeobi Onwuneme prayed God to grant the people’s desire.
In a large assembly held at Neros Stadium, Nanka in Orumba North local council on Saturday the people said that it became necessary to take the action because they have been king makers in Anambra state politics without being able to make one of their own king, and that this time, they will unite behind one of their own sons to win the governorship election in Anambra state.
This is the outcome of an interdenominational service organized by a group, ‘Odinma O.A.U. Forum’ where the people lead by their traditional rulers, the clergy and Presidents General among others  asked God to intercede on their behalf and grant them their heart’s desire of producing the governor of Anambra state.
The chairman and secretary of the organizing committee of the event Prince Joe Emenike and Hon. Dan- ChiboUmeh had delivered a powerful address in which they lamented that because of its abundant human and material resources, “OAU sons were the major power brokers in the state, but they never saw any need to use the opportunity to advance the developmental fortunes of OAU or project their own brothers and sisters to the highest level of power in the state”.
They lamented that “we are plunged into slavery from which we are yet to regain freedom, otherwise why are we in the habit of holding the ladder for other zones to climb to power only to turn round and grumble that we are kicked out and side-lined?”
They listed some of the leading lights of Nigeria who hail from the area as former Vice President Dr. Alex Ekwueme, late industrialist Chief Mathias Ugochukwu,  former Governor of Central Bank, Professor Charles Soludo, former Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Senator Andy Ubah and his brother Chris, Catholic Bishop of Awka, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, Bishop of Ahiara Diocese Most Rev. Dr. Peter Okpaleke, Anglican Bishops of  Ogbaru, Most Rev, Dr, Chukwudi Ezeofor, his counterpart at Amichi, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Ikeako so on and so forth.
After the address, Mr. Clement Onyemobi, chairman of Movement For Greater Anambra State (MOFGAS) in Aguata local council moved a motion for Ezeemo to be adopted as OAU sole candidate in the 2017 election governorship election while Mr. Emeli Vincent and Prince Joe Emenike moved same motion for Orumba South and North and thereafter Ezeemo’s hands were raised and he was taken round the arena in jubilation.
Addressing the press, Ezeemo said that every zone in Anambra state has had its turn in the governance of the state and so “Government House at Agu Awka is vacant and somebody has got to fill it and that person must come from Aguata.
“Right now the people of Old Aguata Union have made a choice. There are a couple of us in the race from Old Aguata and if they decided that it is me, who am I to say no to the call am.
“I will voluntarily give myself willingly to serve the people in the best way nobody has ever served the state. I will do the very best and make sure that we regenerate the state to take its place in the committee of state as the light of the nation”, he concluded#
