Okorocha’s convoy survives Vampire’s attack as Imo police kill notorious kidnapper

www.odogwublog.com reports that their was a wild jubilation in Owerri, the capital of Imo state yesterday following the killing of notorious kidnapper, Henry Chibueze popularly known as Vampire.

The police officers in the state were not left out in the euphoria as sporadic gunshots were shot in the air by them as soon as the corpse of Vampire was brought into the premises of the State police command.

Some residents in the state climbed various heights to catch the glimpse of the notorious kidnapper.

The police force headquarters Public Relation Officer, Jimoh Moshood who addressed journalists disclosed that Vampire was attacked by the Special Task Force set up by the Inspector General of Police himself to combat high caliber criminal elements in the country.

Vampire, he further narrated was actually gun down in his home town, Nkwere by the task force at exactly 1 am. He noted that nine gang members of Vampire were killed on the spot in the operation while six of them were caught alive.

He disclosed those caught as Obinna Ela,Arinze Obicheta,Chukwuebuka and Samuel Ugochukwu. However he regretted that one gallant officer in the operation, Sergeant Innocent Augustine was injured but fast responding to treatment at the hospital.

While conveying the message of the IG, Moshood enjoined the residents of the state to go about their normal business without fear. He pointed out that the special task force were fully equipped to respect and protect the lives and properties of citizens in the country.

Before he was killed, Moshood disclosed that Vampire was responsible for the kidnap and eventual killing of a state house of assembly lawmaker in 2015,a traditional ruler also in the same year and a returnee from Malaysia.

The body of Vampire was later paraded in the streets of Owerri and major roads in the state in his lifeless body adorned in a military camouflage.

Meanwhile, an inside source from the force headquarters that were part of the operation that Vampire had planned to attack the convoy of Governor Rochas Okorocha the following week.

Governor Okorocha had placed a N5 million reward on Vampire for anybody that can give a vital information that will lead to his arrest after he escaped from detention at the premises of the Owerri High Court with the aid of his gang.
