Kidnappers kill, bury Mrs. Catherine Okorie in Ebonyi state

www.odogwublog.com reports that kidnappers of a 59-year-old woman, Mrs. Catherine Okorie  in her home town, Amanonye village, Ishiagu in Ivo local government area of Ebonyi state, has been killed and buried by the suspected assailants.
Some suspects had earlier been arrested by the police in connection to
the crime, among whom three were said to have confessed to crime,
while the chief suspects is currently at large.
The victim was kidnapped on 18th January, 2017 by unknown persons who
demanded two hundred million naira as ransom.

A  family source explained that the family was  still negotiating with
the hoodlums for her possible release without knowing that they had
killed her and buried her corpse in a shallow grave at nearby  forest.


The suspects it was learnt, were arrested in different locations in
the state by the Anti-kidnap Squared of the state police command while
trying to pick the ransom from the family.

The police later exhumed the remains of the woman and deposited it at
the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki. (FETHA).

When contacted, the state Commissioner of police, Titus Larmode
confirmed the incident and further disclosed  that  some suspects have
been arrested and that investigations into the incident  were still
ongoing.

Lamorde  promised to brief the press as soon as investigations  were
concluded.
