www.odogwublog.com reports that the
Indigenous Peoples of Biafra ( IPOB) has said that the recent
happenings in Nigeria are clear indications that "God is angry" with the
country over the continued detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu despite
court orders to release him.
"The Almighty God
is angry with Nigeria government and its failure to heed the total
release of mazi Nnamdi Kanu", IPOB said in a statement issued yesterday
by its Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerful.
IPOB warned of more afflictions unless Kanu and other detained Biafran agitators are released unconditionally.
On
the health challenges of President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently
receiving treatment in a London hospital, IPOB said its prayers and wish
were that the President would recover quickly.
"Our prayer is that Muhammadu Buhari should be well enough. We expected him to come back by now and start where he stopped in taking the country to another level.
"We are not wishing him dead because we don't create life."
IPOB
however challenged the Presidency to be more open about the health
status of the President instead of keeping Nigerians in the dark.
"
It is high time the presidency came out openly and tell Nigerians what
actually happened to their president since he went out of the country."
IPOB said Kanu had predicted that Nigeria would witness turbulence unless Biafra is allowed to secede.
"Before
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was arrested, he was able to highlight what will
befall the Nigerian state if the quest for the restoration of Biafran is
not granted.
"The Nigerian nation in their usual way instead of discussing and negotiating took a dangerous path of arrest and detention.
"Looking
at the state of affairs in Nigeria since the arrest and detention, one
can confidently say that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is now a Prophet of God.
"Is there anything he said that has not come to pass?
Do Nigeria government still wait till all he has said comes to pass? That may spell doom for Nigeria and its people.
Do Nigeria government still wait till all he has said comes to pass? That may spell doom for Nigeria and its people.
"The
truth remains that things have fallen apart and the centre can longer
hold. The continued detention and incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu in the
prison is not an option."
IPOB insisted that Kanu must be released unconditionally before any negotiations with the Federal Government could commence.
"The
Prophet of our time and the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra
IPOB should be released unconditionally and the process of honest and
transparent discussion and negotiations must commence forthwith, failure
to do so Nigeria should expect more dooms.
"The
happenings now in Nigeria since one year has shown that instead of
neutralizing the ideological consciousness of Biafra the reverse is the
case. The ideology is spreading like wild fire and a lot of young and
old keying into it.
"Again,
Nigeria government and the citizens should not wait like in the case of
Pharaoh till the nation receives the last plague before doing the
needful."
