FUTO boils again as cultist kills indigene...protest looms

www.odogwublog.com reports that another protest , this time by the youths of the host communities of the Federal University of Technology. Owerri(FUTO) is imminent following the alleged killing of an indigene of the community, Akujobi Okorie by a suspected cultist from the school on Wednesday.

According to reliable source from the citadel of learning, the deceased was lured by some friends who called him on the phone for a relaxation at a joint close to Infinite junction, Nekede where he was eventually shot dead.

The incident which occurred at about 8 pm according to the source is presently brewing serious crisis between the students of the school and their host communities as the youths of the host communities are planning a reprisal attack on students of the school.

According to the source, some of the facilities in the school such as the hostel outside the school premises are already been planned for attack.

This is coming barely few days the institution witnessed what the vice chancellor of the school, professor Francis Eze described as the" worst destruction" in the history of the school following last week protest by the students on the alleged increment in their school fees of which various facilities in the institution was vandalized by the students.

Already in a press briefing by the VC yesterday, he attributed the recent disturbance in the school to cultists operating in the school. According to him "our problems are these cultists, the students teamed up with them to course damage in the school, we do not allow rusticated students in the hostel again we tell their parents but those outside the school enjoy themselves with their girlfriends ,lavishing their parents money"
