Bishop of Mount Zion Faith Global Libration Ministries, Dr Abraham Christo Udeh advocates law banning ex-generals from presidential elections

www.odogwublog.com reports that the presiding bishop of Mount Zion Faith Global Liberation Ministries, Dr Abraham Christo Udeh has urged the National Assembly to come up with appropriate laws restraining the ex-military top brass from contesting in the nation's presidential elections.

Bishop Udeh made this call yesterday during an interaction with Odogwublog.com in his church cathedral at Uruagu-Nnewi.

He noted the that the ex-generals and other top retired military officers who are used to regimented lives because of their training can neither make good politicians nor democratic leaders as they will expect everybody in the country to obey them without complaining.

Bisho Udeh said that the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari is a typical example of how the ex-generals expect a blind followership from the governed and that anyone who speak up against the unpopular policies of the administration of the day is tagged an enemy that must be killed.

The prelate posited that if the nation's democracy is expected to take root and grow, those who by their training are opposed to popular wish of the people should be prevented from occupying Aso Rock Villa as presidents and that it is incumbent on the National Assembly to come up with relevant laws in this regard in the best interest of Nigeria.

"Nigeria has witnessed too much bloodshed in this administration, the innocent Igbo youths who are just on a peaceful rally are constantly slaughtered like fowls, the unfortunate case of the mass killing in Southern Kaduna is still staring us in the face.

"We saw the anti-Trump demonstration in US but the security agents in that country did not open fire on the demonstrators but because everything in Nigeria is so militarized, those in corridors of powers have zero tolerance for opposition.

The clergy noted that a civilian president can not and will not allow such wanton destruction of lives to go on under his watch, even as he used the former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan who bowed out of office without a fight is an example.

"Jonathan told us that his presidential aspiration was not worth anybody's blood but you recalled that Buhari said he would make Nigeria ungovernable for the same person after losing to him earlier and that was how bokoharam was unleashed on the country. It takes the intervention of the international community to push another military man out of office in Gambia after many years in power, that is military mentality for you.

Bishop Udeh while commenting on the way out of the incessant killing of Igbos across the country said that the only viable option is to allow the Biafrans have self determination and self rule and be free since Nigeria has proved antagonistic to them home and abroad.

"There was pro-Trump demonstrations in Lagos and other cities of the world but it is only in PortHarcourt where the Igbos are gathered that the blood thirsty attack dogs of Buhari deemed it fit to kill our youths, this is abominable and condemnable." He stressed
