Adulterated kerosene kills pregnant mother and her 4 year old son in Enugu.

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Enugu state police command this evening confirmed that an inferno aftermath of alleged adulterated kerosene poured into a lantern has killed a pregnant mother and four year old son,while the husband and other members of the family sustained varying degrees of burnt.

A press statement issued by the state police public relations officer,PPRO,Mr Ebere Amaraizu, made available to odogwublog.com  said the incidence occurred at Ngenevu, a suburb of the Coal camp axis of Enugu metropolis on Monday,January 30 evening, when the father of the house,Mr Hillary Ugwuoke, poured  some kerosene he bought from a close distance into their lantern. While trying to light up the lantern, it exploded and burst into flames that was above their control.

Unfortunately,  his pregnant wife and four year old son was burnt instantly  while Hilary and other children sustained serious burns before the neighbours came to their rescue.

Amaraizu disclosed the man and his surviving children were taken to National Orthopaedic hospital Enugu ,where they are presently receiving treatment, stating police investigations to unravel the circumstances that led  to the incident have begun.
