Okorocha is a killer says former Governor Ohakim

www.odogwublog.com reports that former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has taken a swipe on his successor, Governor Rochas Okorocha, accussing him of gradually killing people through his anti-people policy, and inflicting diseases on the citizenry.
Ohakim made the disclosure when he toured the Achingali water scheme in Obowo Local Government Area of the state built by his administration in 2009, which he said is now in a state of dilapidation.

The immediate past Governor of Imo State accused his successor in office of inflicting diseases on the citizenry by destroying the 1,930 water scheme built across the nooks and crannies of the state by his administration between 2007 and 2011.
Ohakim who decried the bad state of the mega water schemes, lamented that his successesor was going against the United Nations charter which mandates that every citizen of the world must have access to clean water.
He said "the whole water scheme has been abandoned and vandalized. My administration built this project in almost every nook and cranny of the state. We built 1,930 of such water schemes across the state. The idea was to make sure that there is water in every kitchen in Imo State. Water is life, what is the essence of building these non durable roads or empty halls when the water scheme has been destroyed or left to rot? Who will drive on the roads when they have no water to drink or if they die from diseases gotten from unclean water sources?. We provided two giant generators to man this system and others like it and today they have been vandalised and abandoned. The armored cables destroyed and vandalised, the whole place over grown with weed and left to fall apart just because it was an Ohakim project. "
According to him, governance is about continuity and for the people and not for the ego of one single individual saying "you cannot keep abandoning or destroying what Ohakim built for the people just because you want to erase Ohakim's legacy at the expense of the life and health of the people of Imo State. It is sad that personality childish sentiments that has no logical reasoning will be put over the general wellbeing of the people. I never abandoned Chief Achike Udenwa's projects rather continued from where he left and improved on them and that is governance", he lamented.
The former Governor explained that by the destruction of the water project sunk by his administration, the Governor was risking the lives of the people of the state, adding that more people were exposed to unclean water rather clean water and diseases by implication.
According to him, as the Governor of Imo State, he never abandoned the projects he inherited from his predecessor, Chief Achike Udenwa, while he urged Okorocha to look beyond the political party differences between them and administer good governance to the people of the state.
