Shock as policeman Inspector Edem shoots man days to wedding

www.odogwblog.com reports that tears are flowing freely in Oguta over the death of a young man, Friday Nduka shot dead by a trigger-happy Police Inspector at the premises of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation filling station at Control post, in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Odogwublog.com gathered that the deceased who hailed from Oguta local government had just returned from Malaysia, to be wedded to his heartthrob today in Owerri before his untimely death.
The late Nduka had engaged one of the fuel attendants in fisticuffs over the disappearance of his iPhone 7 valued at N400,000.
The source said the brawl resulted in the deceased inflicting injury on the pump attendant who is presently at large.
It was gathered that the station Manager, Mrs Ruth Enemmuo and the deceased wife-to-be had intervened to calm the situation.
Unfortunately immediately Nduka entered into his car together with his wife to be and in law, and was driving out, the trigger-happy police Inspector, Mike Edem fired shots at him; which pierced the car screen and killed him instantly.
The source who pleaded anonymity said Inspector Edem immediately escaped from the scene, and went to Nekede squadron police station, where he dropped his gun under the guise that he was going to return for it but is yet to seen anywhere there.
The station Manager, Mrs Ruth Enemmuo was said to have gone to report to the headquarters of the Imo State Police command and was arrested over the incident but was released and later arrested and has been detained since Saturday.
Meanwhile, counsel  to the detained NNPC manager , Barrister Kissinger Ikeokwu, has said it was wrong for the police to continue delaying his client for a crime committed by another person.
According to him, after listening to the facts of the case, he believes the Police was just detaining his client just to show the deceased family that they were doing something, even though what they were doing amounts to nothing at the end of the day.
He said "the truth of the matter is that there was an altercation. The Malaysian returnee had a brawl with a fuel attendant which led to bleeding in the mouth of the attendant. But the manager intervened and the matter was settled.... he was in company of his heartthrob and they were billed to wed tomorrow, 27th December. Though he was violent and continued to make trouble over his purported lost phone, his heartthrob came and urged him to forget and matters seemed settled".
He queried if the station Manager and her family are to carry out the arrest of the fleeing officer saying "now what the Police is saying is that my client should produce their own fleeing officer. Or are they investigating her for Murder, Manslaughter committed by their own officer"?
Meanwhile, the station Manager has expressed concern over her continuous detention saying the other Policeman on duty has been released after interrogation.
According to her, all the pump attendants, including the one that had an altercation with the deceased were on the run over fear of  arrest by the police.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Andrew Enwerem, confirmed the incident and described the character of the inspector as very unruly.
Enwerem expressed pains at the death of the deceased saying already the Police command has commenced measures to ensure justice is done.
He commiserated with the family of the deceased and said the State Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu is working to ensure the fleeing officer is apprehended and prosecuted as directed by the Inspector General of Police.
