Mbanagu Community election stalled in Nnewi

www.odogwublog.com reports that elections into various positions in Mbanagu community in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra state, which was billed to hold on 27th of December has been postponed indefinitely.
The election was put off due to the inability of different camps in the community to agree on grounds to conduct the election but the executive council insisted that the constitution must be used for the poll.
Situation however became dramatic when aspirants and their supporters started tearing the electoral materials meant for the election.
The attempt of the Chairman of Mbanagu Youth, Engr K.C Nwokolo to calm the situation refused to produced the needed result even when he announced the members of electoral committee and the returning officers for the election.
These scenes and more led the incumbent President General Mazi Azuka Chukwudinma to cancel the election to avoid break down of law and order in the community.
The President General stated that he had no other option than to cancel the election and shift it to a later date, as some aspirants who are hungry for power do not have the basic requirement  for contesting elections as stipulated in their constitution.
He called on Mbanagu indigenes to be calm as the situation will be sorted out soon.
