Ibrahim Magu Not Sacked as EFCC Chairman - Presidency

The Presidency has debunked the report suggesting that President Muhammedu Buhari has sacked the embattled Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The Guardian newspaper reported that Magu has been asked to vacate his office by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

The Presidential spokesperson  Garba Shehu, debunked the Guardian story as untrue on his twitter page.

He said, “We are reading reports that the @officialEFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, has been sacked,” Mr. Shehu tweeted Saturday.

“No report has been made available to the Presidency by the Attorney General of the federation over the matter.”

“The report of his sack is therefore speculative and preemptive.”
