Lagos to change Teslim Balogun Stadium Pitch for Eagles

Super Eagles fans in Lagos state will soon start watching their darling team at the iconic Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos again following the state's government's plan to change the venue's artificial turf to all natural grass turf.

The senior national team has shied away from the Lagos stadium because of its artificial turf, which according to experts, puts players at risk of injury. And with the poor state of the national stadium also in Surulere, the senior national team has played their matches in every other part of the country except Lagos in recent years.

Speaking on the sports facilities in the state at the weekend, the Director General of the Lagos sports Council, Adewunmi Ogunsanya, stated that the state is doing everything possible to change the surface of the stadium in order to attract the senior national team to Lagos again and bring the football fans back to the stadium again.
