COURTOIS PLANNING TO LEAVE CHELSEA

Chelsea Goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois is considering running down his Chelsea contract in order to force a move back to Spanish capital where he hope to sign for Real Madrid.

The Belgian shot stopper has 18 months remaining in his current deal at the London club, and Chelsea are keen for him to sign a two year extension, but on the same wages as he currently earns. According to The Sun, that has forced Courtois to hint that he will consider his future at the end of next season at which time Real Madrid must have seen their transfer embargo lifted.

With the threat of losing him for nothing, it could force Chelsea into potentially looking to sell Courtois as he would be able to begin negotiations with the La-liga giants in January 2018 over a per-contract to join them later that summer.

The report also serves as a reminder over the fact that Real sent Courtois a get-well-soon message after he suffered a knee injury last season, while he has also hinted at a return to the Spanish capital after enjoying a three-year spell with Athletico Madrid under Diego Simeone.

Real Madrid are eager to provide a capable competition for their first choice goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who has put up some unimpressive performances sometimes.
